I Believe In Equal Rights

I don’t. Life isn’t fair and it owes you nothing. If things are tough for you, you better step farther and carry harder.

That means absolutely nothing unless you’ve actually been marginalized while stepping farther and carrying harder from Day 1. 🙄

@bijouxbroussard well if you have the time to ask every person you meet how hard they have it and compare to yourself you obviously have a lot of free time and don’t have that hard of a life. Truly blessed.
@CoffinFeeder No, I don’t really have time to make pronouncements about who does and doesn’t deserve equal rights.

@bijouxbroussard apparently you do as your here on this website. You’re lucky you have it that easy
@CoffinFeeder I have the leisure to be here now because I had no leisure time when I was 22-25. Any ease now I earned with hard work, not privilege.
CoffinFeeder · 31-35, M
Who are you to determine who works hard and who is privileged? Do you have so much free time that you can spend it judging every person you meet. Sounds like you are the privileged one. You must be very lucky @bijouxbroussard

@CoffinFeeder I am not a confrontational person.. but urvresponse to @bijouxbroussard is extremely uninformed and immature. Your adult life has barely begun, I would not be so ignorant to trivialize your experiences, because I could not possibly know. What I do know is that you have a lot more life ahead.. and what you may encounter could be infinitely wonderful (and I wish that for you, as I wish for all).. But the reality is you may have troubling, life altering experiences (many times over) ..I wish you the very best..I think u may remember what I have said..Godspeed
@CoffinFeeder Well who are you to decide who deserves equal rights and who doesn’t ? You’re the one who came to this group making judgments and pronouncements. Guess you’re the one who needs to “step farther” and “carry harder” if another perspective bothers you.

Nothing bothers me. I love my life and have my own story to build. I accept the consequences of my actions and I attack every obstacle in my way with determination. Not everyone will be able to accomplish that and that is just life. But I don’t go around determine who deserves where they are at or who doesn’t. @bijouxbroussard
@CoffinFeeder But you just did, by passing judgment on who deserves equal rights or not. Life is not fair; people don’t have the same opportunities nor do they have the same abilities. But the law should be fair and people are entitled to equal rights under the law. The only people who don’t see that much are those who take their rights for granted.
CoffinFeeder · 31-35, M
@bijouxbroussard I’m staying life grants you nothing and owes you nothing. Only you can determine your outcome in life. If you have time to blame others you obviously are wasting time you could be bettering yourself. But don’t blame anyone but yourself for that wasted time.
@CoffinFeeder That has nothing to do with equal rights, really. You need laws that don’t actively bar you from the opportunities that others enjoy, to better yourself; the ability to go to school, work in industries where you are qualified, to live where you can afford to live. Even to marry the consenting adult of your choice. In a so-called “free” society, these are some of the equal rights people have fought and even died to make possible. So only someone who can take these things for granted could ever make such a blasé statement about “equal rights”.
CoffinFeeder · 31-35, M
@bijouxbroussard rights which can be easily taken away are not rights but privileges which would then mean we are all privileged then. Especially if you even got from it but had nothing to do with accomplishing said privileges
@CoffinFeeder No, there are some basic rights in a free society. That’s where the law should come in. They’re only privileges when only certain people are allowed them arbitrarily.
CoffinFeeder · 31-35, M
So a homeless man in the 1st world has more privileges than the indigenous tribesman in the Amazon... Which would mean everyone in the developed world is lucky to have it easy and be privileged @bijouxbroussard
