i have a few frielndly acquaintances--I usually have between two and five social meet ups per week (eg meet for coffee, hike, walk, meal). I'm working on developing real friendships now. It turns out i invested in friendships with people who didn't value my friendship and I in turn didn't value the friendship of others who did value me. I also wasn't paying attention to how changes in our lives were altering our friendships and I didn't prepare myself for some of their departures from my life. I've changed my priorities, I hope I'm more self aware, and a little more deliberate about friend selection; I am also looking forward to being a better friend to others!😀
