I lived two extremes as a kid. Luxury with my grandparents, and 1848 with my parents. My parents were pretty eccentric and we lived without electricity for quite some time. I consider myself fortunate for having experienced it though.,although the kids at school caught wind, and people would actually come watch us from a distance like we were animals at a zoo. Kids are pretty cruel as I'm sure most of you know. I wimped out and ran away at 14 to live with my grandparents again.

You never wimped out! You came to your good senses. For some strange reason, some people go into complete denial. The unfortunate thing is, they will also include their children with that decision.
