Hmmmm ..... lots of things happening at the same time. Like a horrible allergy attack quickly progressing into something awful. The awesome part is that with the help of a wonderful NP at the walk-in clinic I went from thinking I was falling off a cliff to soaring. Not feeling sick is wonderful. Thank you Pam, my Angel of Mercy!

They had a lab test to determine that it probably wasn't the flu. I was already running a fever so an infection had set in. What was comforting to know were some guidelines about what conditions I needed to watch that required an emergency room visit and heavier duty remedies. I've had enough old family and friends whose deaths were triggered by sudden respirator assaults.
She hit all the affected sub-systems: albuterol inhaler for the lungs, flonase nasal spray for the sinus, Robitussin to slow the hacking cough, Tylenol for the pain, and Omnicef as as a broad-spectrum antibiotic. The turn around came pretty fast and since then it's been a slow but steady return to normal.
They had just moved the clinic to a new building the previous week and I also received a ball point pen and a shopping bag for helping them establish their new home :)
