Do they forgive student loans after a while?

Like after you show them that you can hold a career and everything and you are on the right track?

I've heard from my mom that if you work in a non-profit for a certain number of years (can't remember right now), loan forgiveness is possible. I'm not sure if this is the case in all states though, so you would have to look into that for your specific state. By the way, my mom know this because she worked in a non-profit for a while and got this information straight from human resources.

No. They want their money back. With interest.

You need to go on the website of whoever your lender is and look up forgive ment of loans. I have student loans and I gave decree repayment for years. My lender is probably not the same as yours.
There are very specific cases. Teachers that teach in certain areas for a certain number of year can get their federal student loan debt forgiven.

question: if someone "borrows" something from you, do you expect it back, even if the borrower is starting to do very well?

They forgive the student loans after 20 years, but there are ways to defer repayment.

Where did you see that they're forgiven after 20 years?
