Do u believe that a person can be.....evil ?

I do. My own personal life experiences have led me to this conclusion. Yes. People can be evil. Rotten to the core. And for many various reasons. What do you think. Can a person really be evil.

Well due to my dislike of religion I am reluctant to use the word evil. However some people who don't seem to have a conscience (psychopaths and not always the serial killer type) do things that are actually unforgivable and don't feel bad about it. It is difficult to think about such things without using the word evil though.

I personally know one such psychopath and he is only getting worse with age which is odd because one would think that our conscience would grow with age.

Deep.
Evil doesn't just exist in religious terms. Evil = Harming innocents there is evil in this world. There are innocents hurt every day. It's a choice evil people make thinking that they will win something.

@Wraithorn: They get worse as they get older because they refuse to suffer and with age comes aches and pains, also they lose people either others are tired of them or because of age they die. I had a patient once who's family had died so she kept insisting on being admitted to the hospital even though nothing was wrong with her. She needed to unleash on people and none of us wanted to be her target so we were in and out fast! She died soon after as she had no one.
Sam Vaknin talks about that in his book Malignant Self Love. If they don't get supply they die.
On concious! One would think, but I believe what can grow without roots?

@curiosi: Well by the looks of it the person I'm talking about will most likely die alone. He is just using and abusing. People who used to love him now avoid him like the plague. He is getting desperate now and something will happen. I'm just watching and waiting.
Sounds to much like my mother! She is toxic to be around, but I still love her, you have too! I just wish they (he) could see this @Wraithorn:

@JoanieNewHampshire: Well I'm sorry you have a toxic mother Joanie and I'm surprised you still love her if she is that bad. The person I was referring to is actually my father.

I haven't seen or spoken to the shmuck in 24 yrs but I'm keeping tabs on him through other people who he is in contact with. I'm keeping track of his crimes and I do mean crimes. I love him Zero !!!

He uses religion as a cover because he studied it extensively. Mainly Christianity and Islam, whichever suites the situation at the time. His mask is holy but he is rotten to the core. Hence my main reason for disliking religion.
I understand! I could love my father a lot less then my mom, but I don't. I love her, simply because I believe hate is a terrible thing to impose on an individual that may not know what they do. Evil should be dealt with. But it shouldn't be dealt with hate! I'm so sorry your father was not a dad to you.@Wraithorn:

@JoanieNewHampshire: I understand what you say about hate. It hurts the one who hates most. I released the hate I had for my father a couple yrs ago because it was bugging me. that doesn't mean I need to speak to or see him though.

He has been through 3 families now and treated each one worse than the previous. I have a 20 yr old half-brother with some serious mental scars because of my father. I don't hate him, it's more like a serious dislike for a being whose DNA I carry in my body and who makes me feel ashamed to be associated with by name.

I don't hate maggots but I have a serious aversion to them . Similar thing. :-)
Be adverse to your father he deserves it. But hating him will only consume you! It has with my mother. My only choice is to love her for with out her, I would not exist. @Wraithorn:
