What's worse chewing your fingernails down to the nub or letting them grow kinda long?

Long nails are okay as long as they are clean. Mine always chip so I'm constantly trimming them.

'Kinda' long is okay, it's the really long that is the stuff of nightmares.

Chewing,u can actually die doing that giving urself some nasty infection
