@Jouselet I care about some people here who are as alarmed about the state of life in these parts...as I know we should be...and then they decide I'm their enemy too.

That slays me and I have decided that I am maybe a little too blind when it comes to who people really are..somewtimes one or two words give us right away and sometimes ten thousand pages don't offer a clue, but most people here don't really say that much.
Meanwhile MOST members here pride themselves on their ability to escape trouble from other members.

THEY LOVE TO CROW ALL THE TIME ABOUT THAT.

And I know small towns can be vicious and fishbowl-like

This is one too.

But I want something better in the world, not the status quo to slime around in. We have the right to call others out on these points. Don't expect me to be polite in the face of all I endure here.

The internet is not a kindergarten playground but some want it that way, including most people here.

Its wake up time but even Chomsky thinks we can be humane with one another as we watch the whole show go by.

@Elevatorpitches That's a really good way to put it! I think the smallmindedness shown here reflects the type of people who are empowered by the site, in part, but saying it's a small town attitude is quite astute!
