Did your grandmother have a plastic-covered sofa in her living room?
Years ago, people -- it seemed often people who came from an immigrant background -- would cover their furniture with clear plastic covers. You'd go into a family living room and all the furniture would be covered in plastic. You'd sit down on a sofa or a chair -- and every time you moved an inch the plastic would make a creaking noise. Did your grandmother have plastic covered furniture?

I had neighbors who had plastic and linoleum covering their entire downstairs. They didn't want anyone sitting on the plastic. People like that are deranged.

@flipper1966 One of the neighborhood kids I hung around sometimes. growing up. Those were his parents. It was mostly his mom that was obsessed with that. I sat on the couch once, and that was the last time I was allowed in the living room.
