Well said but it's the opposite in this day and age.

People care about money and themselves than treating someone right.

@Beatbox34 I see many acts that suggest something different to me, but that only came when I started involving myself more and more with elements going on in my community. The expression, it takes a community to raise a child hold so much meaning if you unpack the expression.

@SW-User There are very good examples of this to be honest even if it rare.

I personally have not seen that. Growing up, I've had friends or people around me only when they needed something from me. Some needed support of some sort and when they get what they want, they leave. I have seen this time and time again so I know how it is.

I have kids of my own but as they’ve grown we joke about our adopted kids. Several in fact that spend more time at my house than home because my house is safe, welcoming, and always open. A few of us moms and several teachers have kind of come together to get the few through school. So in some level I get that @SW-User

@Beatbox34 I understand. There is likely someone out there that feels that way about you (and this is not a measurement of character as I don't know you). I've only learned to respect and love, they came into my life to teach me something and if I could help them in any way then what I asked for of them is complete.

@SW-User I do my best to help people even when I'm hurt but that's how I am.

@Beatbox34 Which only says what you wish to see in society/culture is less faraway than you feel.
