But I find them distrustful an less likely a straight shooter in terms of honesty.
I’d rather someone not afraid to speak their mind without fear of being labeled “mean” or offensive”

No.
Not always. I’d say about 75% of the time if you speak your mind your inevitably going to cause some kind of confrontation.
