How do you know/not know if a cut needs stitches without making the trip to the ER?

I caught my leg on a nasty rock when I was surfing today. The cut looks pretty bad, but I can't tell if the cut is deep enough for it to need stitches. I'm kinda hoping not, because I don't want them. 😂

If it doesn't stop bleeding profusely, you need stitches. You need blood to live. 🤷🏻‍♂️

@Mordi It did take a while for the bleeding to stop, but it did.
