@Sarabee well your soul is your depth, it's like the depths of the ocean. Shallow ppl a scared to go into the deep end because they're scared of it. They're more involved with how they appear to be rather than what they're actually being. If one isn't scared of their depths then why wouldn't they be showing it?

@Sarabee yeh they choose not to address it by not looking at it, mainly because it would mean they'd have to stop doing a lot of things they enjoy. Think of those that are fearful of others that upset the status quo. If I show a rich man he is greedy at another's expense he most likely would want to ignore this fact as it would mean he wouldn't be able to continue living in luxury as he does. He's ignorant of the truth and very shallow and lives at the surface of life, namely very matialistic.
