Without a real-life connection, I think that would be hard. Friendship includes loyalty, trust and support, which are valuable traits that aren't given to just anybody..

There are really three types of friends: comrades, confidants and constituents. Most people are lower grade than comrades, the ones who you think are you friends are really just your comrades if you're lucky and finally, if you're really lucky you get a constituent. But a confidant? That's nearly impossible.
