@beautifulsnowstorm I'd say more than just a reproductive force. That is one part of the attraction.
As intelligent creatures we have other parts of attraction too.
Namely intelligence, spiritual, personality, etc.

But reproductive attraction is partly pheromones. The scent they release that makes them attractive to each other for pure carnal need.
Aesthetic is perhaps a combination of reproductive and mental perceptions of beauty.
