why is everyone pressurising me into getting a job?

my parents, my psychiatrist, my occupational therapist, theyre all like you should do this and that to get a job..... im sick though and sick people dont work, i just want an easy life, where i dont have to go out to work everyday and can just laze about being ill and all that... anyhow the government still say im too ill to work and thats all that matters really, as long as my disability benefits keep rolling in ill be fine, but if my psychiatrist says im well enough to work at some point then ill be out the door and into the real world,i hope that day does not come soon

I have a friend with schotzophrenia, I met him through a chat tech support job. I think, and I could be wrong, that socializing and having a schedule might help you manage it, it did for him. He preferred the chat position which is like texting almost because it allowed him to help people without the frustrations that come with talking on the phones-which is a huge pain in the butt.
I don’t think having any mental disorder(and I have a few of my own) that doesn’t put you in a mental hospital permanently is a good reason to simply be lazy if I’m completely honest. Maybe a different type of lifestyle would interest you if you have an issue with the ‘daily grind’ that often is working for corporations and such. I’m going to homestead for example, while the bulk of the money for a while will come from my partner who wishes to have an actual job I will be selling things that are grown on our land, produce and such. Eventually i hope I’ll be able to contribute financially to the household, though in the end either way I’ll be saving us money. It’s a bit more work but I like the idea of working for myself and for my partner rather than for someone I don’t know and facing people who are rude etc.

I know this was long, I tend to ramble sometimes, I apologize.
