It's just that where I live, too many people prefer to complain about the failure to recover their things, and don't even bother mentioning when someone makes the effort to find them, and contact them and return the item in question.
You, on the other hand were happy enough to mention it, and to make it clear that everything was still there, emphasizing that the person was not only kind, but decent and honest, too.
