When is it a good time to suggest your girlfriend is starting to get the personality of a serial killer?

I may have kind of done this, however I found an article on how BPD relationships play out and read it. This did not go down well, however it did curtail a lot of her manipulative bullshit. I'm up in the air as to whether it was a good idea or not.
