I think a person has the right to change or end his own life. That being said, most people who commit suicide statistically are impaired by drug or alcohol and/or are experiencing a mental disorder. In such a state, it could be argued a person is not of sound mind. In fact, with the proper therapy and medication, most people go on to find they don't want to die at all; they simply wanted unpleasant circumstances to change.
So do we each have power over our own lives? Yes, I think so, but we also have to responsibility to help others who may not see so clearly in the moment.
