At what point did you think you were going to die but obviously didn't?

Before my first two brain surgeries when I was very much ill. It was horrible for me, I remember that I had lost my senses. Later my mom told me she used to see some black shadows(of men) standing just behind my bed.

Do you literally mean your senses; your smell, taste etc? Or do you mean you couldn't make sense of things?@ABCDEF7

I was having brain tumour at my brain stem that sometimes used to stop blood flow to my brain. But it is not what I mean. It is difficult for me to explain. I was able to see, smell, taste, etc. but the feeling was not lively. Even sometimes I used to nap, the feeling of which was totally different from sleep, it used to feel me that I was not there for some time.

I even had the out of the body experience during my first surgery, but that was a different story.
