@SW-User it is stinky but nordic countries are well into preserving their food gawd bless 'em no matter how disgusting it is

@SW-User My mom made us lutfisk when I was a child. My great grandmother taught her. Its delicious with melted butter. I wish my mom was still alive so I could eat her Scandinavian dishes again. Nice memories.

@SW-User aww we just don't appreciate it at the time do we?

@SW-User Does the butter mask any of the propeties of the lutefusk?

@Teignmouth My mom passed away recently so yeah I wish I could have her cook for me again. She was a great cook. And no, I'm not fond of smoked herring. I like Swedish meatballs with lingonberry sauce tho.

@SW-User Yeah its delicious, but just like some foods, you either grow up loving it or hating it. Some people like ham, but I hate it, etc.

@SW-User sorry about your mom, this was pickled herring. Hope if you haven't already that you get to visit Sweden, my great grandfather was from Sweden it's on my list 🙂

@Teignmouth Thank you.🙂
Cool, my great grandfather was from Sweden too.👍
Sorry I thought you said smoked herring. As a kid I would eat the pickled herring with delight. Not so fond of it now.
I've never been to any of the Scandinavian countries. I'd love to go someday.
