Ultimately the sun will dim. The Earth will cool. Plants will start to die off. Herbivores next. Carnivores will go back to being 'hunter-gatherers' As the sun slowly dies the Earth will stop rotating. This will see the Earth drawn into collision with the sun. But all life will have gone before then.
Though in all seriousness, luminosity increase as the sun ages will blow away the protective ozone layer of the atmosphere and eventually boil away the oceans and irradiate the surface. And then the expanding shell of Sol as it goes into red giant phase may very well consume the Earth entirely, though even if it doesn't the tidal forces combined with the proximity to Sol's surface increasing drag will probably tear the planet apart. Or Earth will fall away from Sol due to the loss of solar mass and then freeze.
