I Am Not Used To Compliments

I got so many compliments today and from different people too. I'm not sure how to feel when I get them, so I usually just say a short thank you.
I see people usually return the compliment, especially women I've noticed. But since I haven't heard that many people to just answer with a concise thank you, to me that feels more unique and like giving so much more than just 2 words. To me it feels like a more genuine appreciation. What do you think?

well... it depends.. in person those two words may come across as meaning more than just two words.. online it would be much harder to know what the meaning and feeling behind the two words were.. Part of that is beyond your control.

@Adaydreambeliever I agree. Online is more difficult to have those words emphasized, because in real life you can actually pause for 1-2 seconds before you say it, so it gives it more of a punch, in order to get the feeling behind it.

Depends on the context, but being genuine is simply saying how you really feel. So if you feel like returning it go ahead, if you feel like just saying thanks go ahead.
