My tics and outbursts
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Cigarguy hubby has a few of those..I can always tell if he’s sending an email and he’s uptight as he starts getting restless and flexes his arms and fingers constantly. He also just shouts out random words and phrases and doesn’t even know why he’s done it.
Cigarguy · M
@Primnproper I have many loud vocals outside. I say the most random words or sounds. But I have a pacing tic that is getting ready bad right now. I can barely sit still longer than 5 or 10 minutes and I have to get up and pace. And it's a very fast intense pace too. So I freak a lot of people out when I do it

Does he have tourette's.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Cigarguy Nothing diagnosed but I always call it his verbal Tourette’s. He doesn’t swear he just says very random things and doesn’t know when he does it or why. He will do it when we’re watching a movie or he’s doing a puzzle.
Cigarguy · M
@Primnproper I've had tourette's since I was 6 years old. I

@Cigarguy Are they able to help you with the pacing?
Cigarguy · M
@Primnproper I am working with a neurologist now. We are trying to find other ways to get the need to have a tic out. She is waiting me to try shacking my legs instead of getting up. It's still annoying to some people but it would be better than pacing. I see her on Wednesday and we're really going to focus on this one tic because it's getting very hard for me to do anything

@Cigarguy do you know what sets it off at the time. How you’re feeling or is it just spontaneous?
Cigarguy · M
@Primnproper I can feel the need to do it. It's like a sneeze building up or a itch I can reach. I can hold them in but it's very hard mentally to do that and that feeling just builds up inside me. It is mentally exhausting do this and eventually I have to give in and let it out.

@Cigarguy If my hubs tried to hold his tics in he’d explode I think. He needs some kind of outlet.
Cigarguy · M
@Primnproper so do I. Like I said it hurts me mentally and physically to hold them back. Then I end up having a tic attack. All the tics I've held back trying to get out at once. They can last 10 minutes or longer. I barely have any control when that happens. But sometimes I can tell I need to do it.

@Cigarguy are there any alternative procedures that might work like acupuncture or something. I’ve no idea but it’s just a thought.
Cigarguy · M
@Primnproper right now I recently started CBIT therapy and am doing a slow medication change. But it will take time and work. This is something I should of started when I was a child not a adult. I just have to be patient and keep working the program
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Cigarguy I really hope it works out for you.
Cigarguy · M
@Primnproper thank you. I didn't mean to hijacked your post either

@Cigarguy hey I’m all for communication whether it’s with me or between others. Doesn’t bother me in the slightest.👍
