Why Do So Many People Worry About Others Opinions Of Them?

Imma gonna have another go at this, coz i think i may have misunderstood the question:

I know ive had times in my life ive been very concerned about others opinions - my parents, kids at school, at work, even just general people.

And every rime it was because i felt i was no good, or not good enough...or ground down , or worse - broken....scared.

I didn't fit anywhere.
And i had nowhere or no one of my own to fall back on.

I think we all feel a need to 'fit in' . We are naturally social creatures.

And if you have no one else on your side to hold you up, and you're alone....it can be daunting, exhausting, .... scary even.

I think its also perspective.

If one lives long enough, and goes thru enough shit, you hopefully learn whats really important and what doesn't matter.

That you can stand alone, with nothing and no one behind you ..... and life doesn't end.

People are more isolated more than ever now.

And without experience - its a scary world to face alone.

We all want someone on our side🤷‍♀️

@OogieBoogie you got it! Some of those people whos validation you were going for may not have made you feel better about yourself and sometimes they can even make you feel worse or not good enough, so who better to know if we are decent, law abiding, kind, compassionate, helpful and trustworthy and friendly than ourselves. If we are getting up everyday with those key points at the forefront of ourselves why wouldn't you have the confidence in yourself to look in a mirror and say yeah im a good person. You dont need others to tell you that if you live it everyday. I understand some will still need to be reassured and of course supported hopefully to see that about themselves in the future too.
