@Primnproper Margaret was a little girl that was going through the changes to become a woman. She talked a lot about things all girls go through and it helped me understand I wasn't alone.
When We Were is a poetry book narrated by Christopher Robin. It had a lot of childhood poetry. I loved Winnie rhe Pooh growing up, but I think one of the things that drew me to that book was,that my mother had recreated many of the characters in artwork either from her own inagination or from the illustrations. We had quilts with enbroidered blocks of the characters.... quotes from the book in calligraphy.... drawn pics framed on our walls etc. That was one of the books she used a lot, along with Alice in Wonderland.
