Richard Scary when I was really little, Shel Sliverstein in elementary, Charlotte's Webb, then Zilpha Keatly Snyder as a tween- I read a lot of her stuff but the Green Sky trilogy was my favorite. As a young teen I discovered the the Time-Life Mystery Series in the Non-fiction section and my little mind was blown.
