Teach them both the same thing:

Two types of people will try to come into your life.

Those who will make your life better and those who will make it more difficult.

Choose wisely which you allow to stay.

@Primnproper It's a simple and wise rule to live by, but darn it's hard to learn. We tend to choose those we need to fix/change.... that works like almost never.
