coastal northern California so far

after that, it's difficult to rank western Washington state, New York's Hudson Valley, and coastal Maine

@BlueGreenGrey Grew up in the Bay Area and spent a lot of time along the coast, hiking, and camping, and called Western WA home since school. While coastal N. Cal will always be home, Washington, Oregon and British Columbia are out of this workd.

@BlueGreenGrey sounds popular..👍
@Northwest I haven't seen much of Oregon, just passing through on I-5 from CA to WA but the Willamette Valley seemed nice (and before that I didn't know Mount Saint Helens was visible from Portland ... have to wonder how things would've played out if that side of the volcano had blown out instead of the side that did)

Only part of BC I've been to is just crossing into their waters on a whale-watching boat

I suspect though, if I'd ever been there, the Mediterranean coast, from France to Turkey, would be my favorite part of the world

@BlueGreenGrey Portland took the brunt of the Mt Helens explosion. I don't know how long it's been, but the Willamette Valley is exploding with newcomers, and traffic Still as gorgeous as ever, and best Pinot Noir around. I spend a few weekends a year over there.

I have a house in BC. So close to Seattle, and bought when prices were still "reasonable".

The Mediterranean coast is wonderful, but it's way too crowded (I say as I prepare to head over). The waters are about 50% obstructed by super yachts and cruise ships. My ultimate, "quiet" vacation, is SCUBA diving in the less traveled islands of French Polynesia.
