Race Blindness in a Sense

Why cant we all just think this way when dealing with others? Like people are people and individuals. Cant we just look at people as individuals and not as like a member of a race? Its not like everyone knows and or is influenced by the whole of their race. Especially in America where its a mix of peoples with different backgrounds. I mean sure we can all have preferences just like favorite colors. That is allowed. Why do people have to hate? They dont.

We aren't born with that kind of prejudice. It has to be taught somehow. Usually, I think racism is something that children pick up or reject from listening to the adults in their lives. Also, I've heard of adults suddenly becoming prejudiced after crimes or abuses committed by people of another race. Instead of blaming the individual, they blame an entire group.
