I purchase food and donate it to local animal shelters. The scammers who pay for those ads use very little of the money to actually help animals. Most of the big charities have a poor record of using the money for the correct purpose.

@joe438 something that some of the shelters also need is small fleece blankets like are rolled up and sold at Walmart for little money. They put a bunch on clearance for about $1.50, had a big bin of them and posted a picture on Facebook and said the shelters that spay or neuter cats & dogs need those blankets for after surgery and they can only use them once since they get blood on them.

@cherokeepatti awesome- yes they do need blankets, toys and money too. The ones I talk to ask for food so that’s what I give them.

@joe438 I took a couple female feral cats to the animal shelter to be spayed and adopted. I noticed a lot of bags of pet food in different brands that people had donated.

@cherokeepatti It helps to ask them what they need rather than just buying stuff and dropping it off.
