No, and fun fact billionaires give more to charity than anyone else does.

@powerofyou seems as though they are empty handed when asked to pay an appropriate amount of taxes based on income.
Gloomy · F
@powerofyou Philanthropy is always an expression of power. Giving often depends on the personal whims of super-rich individuals and does not necessarily improve peoples lives. Some charities are used just to launder or bunk money.

and the argument is stupid too no shit people who own insane amount of wealth are able to donate more than others
powerofyou · M
@Gloomy so you want the rich to give away their money and then you complain when they do. That’s stupid
powerofyou · M
@SW-User or they pay their taxes as written in the US tax laws.
Gloomy · F
@powerofyou No I want a system that prevents people from accumulating huge amounts of wealth in the first place. The centralisation of wealth in the hands of few is a big issue and like I said these donations don't help anyone really.
powerofyou · M
@Gloomy you should look into North Korea. You can “give” all your money to a few people in high power. There are so few billionaires there.

@powerofyou fair enough, but we both are smart enough to understand that not everyone can afford tax lawyers to navigate the code to find ways to defer or offset income.
A former President did it…

With that, I am stepping away.✌🏼
powerofyou · M
@SW-User and not everyone needs tax lawyers. I’m fact most of the nation can goto h and r block or turbo tax, because most of nation is not billionaires
powerofyou · M
@Gloomy well you actually said that you wanted a system that prevents people from accumulating a large amount of wealth. North Korea has a great system for that. And your negative comments are only a reflection of yourself:)

@powerofyou Because they have the fortune to do so.

@powerofyou usually for tax benefits than actually caring about a cause
powerofyou · M
@Gloomy and your reply has literally nothing to do what I said to your previous argument. And you are in no position to call anyone an idiot, based on your inability to put together an argument, and get so easily upset over an Internet forum 😂 but have a good day! I have nothing more to say to you.

@Gloomy haha 😂 don’t be up upset your free handout is on its way
Gloomy · F
@powerofyou How awful that I expect affordable healthcare and cheap education 😱 which is common in most western capitalist countries

Bringing up and using the term "handouts" shows your inabillity to understand anything especially anything beyond greed and capitalist egotism
powerofyou · M
@Gloomy the problem is you have no skills, no talents, and no money and you are angry at those who do have money, skills, and talents. But instead of doing something to better yourself and make something of yourself you just complain about it on the internet.
Gloomy · F
@powerofyou You think it's all about myself because that’s the way you think. I'm doing ok and i don't aspire much more but by looking at the world and the US economic system for example it is no matter of skill, talent or hard work that gets you rich. It's luck, inheritance and simply capital ownership. The American Dream has always been a lie and you love inequality and exploitation and are simply self centered.
@powerofyou And you don’t know any of that to be true about any stranger you’re speaking to on the internet. But how charitable of you to assume that when someone expresses the opinion that everyone should be able to survive in this world. 🤨
powerofyou · M
@Gloomy me self centered??? How many mission trips have you been on? How much charity work have you done? I know for a fact I have done more than you ever will. But that’s just me a greedy self centered capitalist. So take your hand out and go home
Gloomy · F
@powerofyou Mission trips are terrible when done out of religious reasons and even worse when it is tied to converting people towards a faith.

Quite a bit I have worked at a soup kitchen and help my community. Us Romani still struggle economically and socially due to racism and stigma.

The "hand out" talk is silly and any other western capitalist country with a social safety net, better labor laws and healthcare system would laught at you.

@Emosaur does that include people who live in areas where you can not grow an abundance of food or raise livestock? Are you familiar with the Boers? There is more to ending world hunger then just throwing money at it.
@Gloomy Ironically, here our conservatives seem to get along with North Korea much better than our progressives do. The authoritarianism, I imagine. 😉
