Are they? Female catfishes are nurses or work at charitable organisatons. Although their profile picture is of them oiled up and half naked , with their boobs hanging out, they are "god fearing loving women:

@JimboSaturn I think men are led by their ego sometimes but it is rather foolish to think some young hot woman is going to want to date older man I mean like 70 which I've seen happen on these shows.
Once somebody ask me for money I would be running to get away.

@Justmeraeagain It's ridiculous that a 50 year old man would think some random 25 year old model would be interested in them lol.
I guess this goes for men and women, if it's to good to be true, it isn't true.
Of course if money comes into the conversation in any way shape or form, run.

Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F

@cherny I don't make fun of the victims but I really can't understand the ones who think they're dating a celebrity who they never see and never meet.
@Justmeraeagain it takes all kinds I guess

First of all, these are jobs for burly, manly, hairy, 2 fisted manly men who take no guff.
Secondly, having these "jobs" allow them to disappear for days or weeks at a time...
"Sorry babe, there was a ferocious nor'easter, combined with a wiley sou'wester, and I needed all my attention and skills to make my way through it to come see you....now give me some sugar baby"

@SumKindaMunster
I think part of it so they don't have to meet you they can keep you stringing along
I think part of it so they don't have to meet you they can keep you stringing along
So they can make the gullible believe they don’t have access to their money thus:
1) Need loan after loan for ridiculous reason after ridiculous reason (which they will most certainly pay back once they ride off into the sunset together and live happily ever after.)
2) Need to use their bank account to funnel checks through (in a money laundering scheme.)
3) Need gift cards (which they can then sell for cash.)
4) Need to pay medical bills when they get injured in their “dangerous profession.”
And just in general can invent ridiculous reason after ridiculous reason why they can’t video chat or meet up in real life, again counting on the gullible person not knowing any better.
Sadly people fall for this a lot. And lose thousands of dollars. Loneliness, sadness, depression and yes, just a lack of intelligence and common sense can cloud their judgement and make them very vulnerable. I watch their stories on YouTube all the time.

@OlderSometimesWiser it's really sad and I feel bad for the people I don't really make fun of them ,because many of them may have mental illness for all I know.
RubySoo · 56-60, F
Nope. Not always.
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
@RubySoo
Nothing is always but many times they will claim to be a captain of a ship or out on an oil rig.

@Justmeraeagain ex military personel is a big one too. And now devoting there lives to sick animals!!! Lol.
Cause they’re not smart enough to think of a better career? Haha
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
@Unefilletrescurieuse I believe oil workers make pretty good money but then they're on the ship and they can't get to their money so you got to send them money so they have money it's a big scam it happens a lot
DrWatson · 70-79, M
Those are jobs which give them a plausible excuse for turning down any invitation to actually meet in person. They're always off shore.
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
@DrWatson yep
faery · F
They assume it's attractive to their target audience
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
@faery I honestly don't see why it would be but 🤷
faery · F
@Justmeraeagain Me either, but they're just trying to seem hyper masculine
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
@faery that is possible
Musicman · 61-69, M
🤔 Should I be a ships captain or an oil rig worker? Decisions decisions! 🤔
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
@Musicman Niether
Musicman · 61-69, M
@Justmeraeagain Can I be a retired caregiver? 🙂
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
@Musicman now, now you have a lovely wife you don't need to do that...

So you can't verify.
