Robert Reich—"The KKK Murdered My Friend"

I did not know that Robert Reich had grown up with Michael "Mickey" Schwerner, one of the three young civil rights workers murdered by members of the KKK (who were also local law enforcement, very typical then)

Paul Simon was friends with Andrew Goodman, one of the three murdered, and wrote the song "He Was My Brother" in his memory.

The men were Andrew Goodman,
James Chaney, a local Black Mississippian, and Mickey Schwerner (who, like Goodman was from New York). The poster of their initial disappearance:
