Why Is Your Age Hidden?

I just wonder why some people don't reveal their age. Not that it's wrong or anything. I'm just asking.

My age isn’t a secret, but as one of the senior posters I just became tired of it being an easy target when someone didn’t like an opinion or perspective that I expressed.
