Why Is Your Age Hidden?

I just wonder why some people don't reveal their age. Not that it's wrong or anything. I'm just asking.

I've been told I'm an old hag by some and a millennial or gen z by others, all said to degrade my person and my opinions. I feel no need in supporting anyone in judging me/anyone by their age. Therefore I've made it no one's business, those that need to know will know.
