I Admire Common Sense

@Backwoodsman2 If kids have any common sense it's educated out of them by the time they leave college.

@jackson55 Now that is very true. A college education today is crap today. I have seen wild animals functioning at a higher level than a lot of college kids

@Backwoodsman2 I wouldn't say that, but kids come out of college with some very strange ideas.

@jackson55 I have seen some kids coming out of college that don't know how to do activities of daily living. And they fall for those really bizarre ideas that they are fed. They do not challenge anything they are told. Of course there are a few that with not follow the herd. I respect them even if I may not agree with them

@Backwoodsman2 I Agree. Book smart but no skills. I think many that go to college are told they must to get a good job. There are many people in the trades that do well with no college education. Kids of this generation don't want to get their hands dirty.

@jackson55 I agree. I know a lot of tradesmen who are doing very well. I have seen where they have openings in factories and other blue collar jobs and they can't get young people to fill them, don't want to get dirty. I always respect people who are willing to get down into the ditches. I liked watching the programme "Dirty Jobs"

@Backwoodsman2 That's because critical thinking is not taught anymore. It's comity think. No opposing views.

@Backwoodsman2 This old house on PBS is promoting job skills for kids. Gets them working with their hands and using their heads.
