I Believe Actions Speak Louder Than Words

Words are just words unless you back them with action. Just saying I love you, I care about you, I'm thinking of you, etc. are meaningless unless you make the person feel what you are saying. I believe it's the little things that mean the most, little notes saying Hi just wanted you to know I'm thinking of you, or maybe just spending time with that person, or could be as easy as listening to them...there are so many possibilities....find some that fit your situation or relationship and implement them....make that person feel extra extra special.

@awakens edge, so true. You really can't make someone show affection or appreciation. They either do or they don't. And if they don't, there's your answer. It's a waste of time to wish someone would behave in a way that you want them to. If they truly care for you, they will show it with their actions. Words are often lies. It sounds cynical but it is true.

AlisynWonderland....I was in a similar situation and I tried everything but I never got it returned or I would get very little, I thought it didn't matter but in the end it did matter. I think it is up to the individual on what you want, we can't make people show us affection or appreciation, I feel like that if they love us, they will give it freely.

Time and attention are really what's important in any relationship, love is a verb.

What if you make the effort to make them feel extra special but it's never reciprocal?
