On the surface when you say I accept people for who they are it sounds very kind, accepting and altruistic, which it is. The flip side of that coin is that knowing who people are directly impacts expectations and interactions both for good and bad. This is the flip side - often missed

I always take that phrase to mean...you literally do take them as they are - you dont fight it, rebel against it or coerce in any way, for them to change.

You see them, for good or bad - and treat them accordingly to their nature 🤷‍♀
