do you care if you're liked or not

When I was younger, in my 20's and 30's, sure I cared a lot about what people thought about me. And I at least want to be treated in a good way. But with being in my mid 40's now, I don't really care what people think about me. I'm my own person, I love myself for who I am.

With work, I think people already treated me well, and now that I got this higher position, I think it just solidifies that what I do with work and as a person, shows who I am.

I do wish I had a significant other, or someone that I could talk to who would understand me and stuff like that. But I'm glad for having the family I have and the friends that I have. Trying to make friends at work is hard, especially because some people are married and have their lives to take care of, but I know with work there are some people I can talk to, which is good to have.

Ive always cared what people think of me and have wished everyone i met liked me. I used to hate the thought of being disliked. Now i am abit more realistic and accept that not everyones going to like me, Its not the end of the world and it doesnt mean that i am a terrible person.

I care if I am liked by the people that matter most to me. I can't imagine why a person wouldn't like me but I do try to be nice to everyone I meet.
