Trick or treat!
It's Halloween. I want to wish you a happy time. Enjoy the evening when kids are still going around safely in your street. I saw some yesterday when I went to the town's market place and my favourite pub there. They were all dressed in their Halloween costumes. Alright, they were from the local secondary school but it was indeed nice to see them. Youth, how I miss you.
The day before I heard that Patrick Stewart had passed away. I try to temper my language here because this year has particulary sad in the passing of great souls. I think now of only Sam Neil and Dolly Parton, and I'm already ready to shed a tear. No, this is Halloween and it's indeed different than other days. The day after it's All Saints' Day.
I remember at this moment many things. First of all those people who loved me and who are dead and buried. Placed the traditional flowers on their graves on Tuesday. Said a little prayer and off I went again. Now I regret a lot of things. Too late to alter the past but we should remember it nevertheless. Remembrance Sunday ahead has for me still some importance too.
Now and then I tell someone on here that I do have family members who did something really dangerous but important near to one century ago already. They were doing acts of resistance during long years of occupation. No big acts but acts nevertheless. There's that word again. Trick or treat on the play of that word. Do you still have a notion of what's really important?
There have been elections already recently. Some results were boring as ever, some ousted dictators and some solidified the hardness of the soul of the nation. On this day I wish my friends a happy day again and a blessed year to come. May all your fears just stay that. Images in your mind created by your soul. Don't stay inactive, mind you, and remember what already happened once.
