I'm sure some people will laugh up the question, but the fact remains in the early 80s. You could buy a townhouse for less than a freaking F150 cost today, rates were high on everything and yet, everything costs a great deal less of your total income than it does today. Well, interest rates are high, so we're saving rates. The banks have turned that upside down. Now our free savings account doesn't pay squat.
