My siblings who have ASD never use greetings, no matter the language. They don't say Hi, Good morning.. etc

They also rarely remember to ask "How are you?" in conversations because it doesn't make sense to them to ask unless they genuinely care.

So I often forget to do that myself with everyday people. And they think I am ignoring them or being rude.

I pick the habits of those I interact with most, like a sponge. Always been good at assimilating new things but I also fail plenty to switch from a context to another.

Take work for example. There is sometimes no space for feelings, so I switch them off for more efficiency. And I can't always switch them on while off work and it bothers people too.

We are all just bunch of roles.

Story of my life. I learned it later in life by copying other people. After being called out multiple times. We usually don’t do well with small talks, we need to get straight to the point. After years of being like that, I learned that it’s considered rude behavior 🤦‍♀.

@Younameit this right here.

This is very true. I am on the spectrum and never ask people how they are doing. I do say hello but only because I’m neurotypical enough to ask so I can get to the point.
