I worry about the thirty year olds

Some are actually proud of being sad. Not knowing at all what that means. Yes, there's something definitely wrong with society again today. Have you heard about the death of Daveigh Chase (35) recently? She died from sepsis following a bout with meningitis in a Los Angeles hospital.

In a GoFundMe page set up before her death, her boyfriend described Daveigh as having always “been a light in my life”, adding: “But behind the scenes, she’s faced more than her share of hardship. After a difficult childhood and a painful falling out with her family, Daveigh was bullied and struggled to find safety and happiness in downtown LA. When we met, I promised to protect her and give her the love and comfort she deserved. Together, we found moments of happiness and hope."

Both her former manager and her father have claimed that the actress was homeless in the last decade of her life.

What on earth is happening there in LA and perhaps around your own neighbourhood too?

struggled to find safety and happiness in downtown LA

It's hardly surprising. This is not the place to search for safety and happiness. I heard it's one of the most dog eats dog places on earth with the highest concentration of ambitious people, horrible cost of living, as well as the place with areas with very high crime rate, homelessness and drug problems. Downtown LA has been quite infamous for this for some time.
@CrazyMusicLover Yep, but in previous times that would be a hot issue to do something about.

There's not much detail here but severe weight loss was mentioned. If I had to guess I'd say anorexia is part of it. That could weaken you and make you vulnerable to infections. What's going on is probably mental illness. Given the homeless angel drug use might have been involved as well.
@Munumbis Yes, that's just my point somehow. Where are the rest us when this sort of thing does happen. Moreover, it happens there more than other places. How can one stay indifferent?

Plus I've seen some pics on the internet that the boyfriend shared and those really made me angry. You're right about something more must have been going on.
