Woman who lived as a man for 18 months takes her own life

(This Recording Is Not Me Or Anyone I Know In Person. I Just Found This Very Instersting & Helpful)

Norah Vincent was an American writer and she decided to live as a man for 18 months, uncovering the challenges men face daily. She did in order to get inspired for a book she was writing"Self-Made Man," published in 2006, about the 18 months she spent disguised as "Ned." Through her experiment, she exposed the complexities of masculinity, from societal pressures to emotional struggles.

After this experiment, she checked herself into a mental institution because of the experiences she lived and the damage it caused her. 15 years later, she decided committing assisted suicide in Switzerland.

I just read some one star reviews from women, they are very scathing...

@NativePortlander1970 I have not read this book, but that first review is quite interesting. It seems she's basically accusing Norah Vincent of only uncovering her own misandry, rather than exposing a societal trend? It's quite an interesting take.

That long one by Sarah Lewis I think is pretty unfortunate. She seems convinced that any book about gender must be evaluated along the standards of academic sociological research, which is just meaningless gatekeeping imo.

These are cool to read tho thanks!
