I think saying you don't have empathy for complete strangers should be fine

Because it's honestly how probably most people feel but they just can't admit it.

It should be totally understandable to everyone if you tell them about children dying in whereever and for them to just be honest and say they don't care.

That doesn't mean they are a psychopath it is just human nature not to feel empathy for people you aren't close to.

Society can't seem to be honest with itself about this.
