@bijouxbroussard Yaaay a fellow french person. Ive been told by nan years ago we have African bloodlines. I genuinely dont know if thats true. Although someone said i have those features. Suits me 🙂 Full lips and naturally strong. Its cool to see we are all part of many countries.
@Perry1968 My mother’s family had some roots in Southern France (Marseille). Through ancestry.com, some of the relatives appeared and reached out. Mom met a couple of them before she passed.

@bijouxbroussard Im sorry to hear about your mother. It doesn't matter how old we are as children. It still hurts and strikes a chord with me too. Ive never tried ancestry.com. iam the youngest of 6 kids. So my older sibblings would know much more than me. I would love to find out more though.
@Perry1968 Thank you. I lost her in 2023, still working through it. 🥺

I don’t know if you’ve ever taken the DNA tests. The amazing thing is that even with siblings the results will be interesting; you’ll see different percentages among you. For example, in MyHeritage, I have 5% North African whereas my brother has 15%.

@bijouxbroussard I know words cant always be of comfort. But just know that she clearly would want you to push on and cherish the good times you had. You are a good person. I feel validated to say that to yiu because ive known you here for a very long time. Heartbreak is terrible. My mum passed in 2001 and i still think of her. It was only earlier my sister and i were talking about her. I dont want to come across all angelic because we all deal with grief differently. Please try to grip that love like your own life depends on it. And like i do with Barbara my wife" I believe talking about them makes sure they are never forgotten. Always here if you ever want to chst my friend ok. 💙
