What silently destroyed society?

Technology!! mainly mobile phones has made people more distant, Growing up I remember people waving at each other on the roads and talking more. Now people could care less about others, with road rage and hiding behind tinted glass or in huge trucks where they can't be seen. It seems people worry about politics more than being a good friend or neighbor. But one thing everyone has in common these days is they love having their cell phones in their face.
