do you agree with mass deportations

some people i talk to think there should be mass deportations of all the immigrants here now, here in the british isles i mean, because there's too many foreigners here....do you agree that should happen or is that going too far?

do you think there should be no borders and every immigrant from across the globe should have the right to flock here regardless of who they are?

i think there's nothing wrong with immigration as long as its strictly controlled.

I despise modern politics, and the corrupt lying hacks who force decent people into making terrible choices.

But okay, I'll answer this question because it can't make things any worse.

I'm an American, a moderate, and an independent voter. I agree with secure borders, lawful immigration, and prosecuting & removing foregners who commit crimes. But that's not what's happening, and not what's going to happen.

Trump and his enablers killed a bipartisan immigration bill that would have put needed reforms and more money in place to address the most urgent problems - so he could campaign on another phony "crisis". What he's throwing out now with his mass deportation scheme has no real legal framework, no working budget, inadequate manpower, and zero cooperation from foreign governments. But lots of rage and paranoia.

It won't work. And most of the time and energy in his administration will be spent denying failure, blaming others, and spewing propaganda. Just like his first term. So-called "progressive" Democrats and the few true conservatives left in the Republican party will piss themselves, and do nothing.

Any drop in unlawful border crossings or shift in other immigration problems over the next four years will be because most people in other countries have decided the US isn't really worth coming to anymore. And the fuckwad idiots who post their political garbage here and on other social media will carry on.

The world is what you make it.

Baby ✌

Who do you deport? Just those that arrived here? What if they have had kids here? If you say kids where do you stop? If their kids have had kids? Another generation?

I'm 3rd generation from Granny. So do I "go back" to Ireland a country I've only visited 3 times. How are Ireland going to feel about that?
@KatyO83 of course!

@OrionInTheNight so not asylum seekers then as in UK law once they claim asylum they are granted "regular immigration status".
@KatyO83 no those people are legally present I dont see why they should be deported for that

I am not particularly passionate about it either way though

So.. ever since I knew of Immigration, it was always with the understanding that there were rapid inspections in hospitality and Landscaping positions to check that everyone had their Greencard etc., and this was not a racist issue, it was a "National Issue," for all to be Law Abiding, and there would be mass transports to the Boarder with instructions on how to come in legally.

To change the Optics in a fashion to weaponize the our Nation's Security Efforts as Racist is counter intuitive to being a "Country."

Case in point. "Thank you for your stay here, please use the correct means to become a Citizen to the Greatest Nation on Earth that welcomes all. Do it legally and you're in!"

because there's too many foreigners here.

I think putting a loaded statement like that into your post is unhelpful. 'Foreigners' have always contributed to British culture from the Anglo Saxons through the Norman French (our language) to the invited Commonwealth citizens who brought 'traditional' British cuisine (French word) like Chinese (not real at all) and Indian (also a pastiche of the real thing) which many Brits enjoy as a matter of course.

Heaven help us if we remove all 'foreigners' from the NHS and our care 'system'.

However, I do agree that we need to control immigration sensibly.

Things must really be bad in Mexico and Central America if people would risk dying to live in a horrible place like the U S and A. I wish they would stay where they are and fight to change it but maybe that isn't possible.

I am OK with it. Of course. We may disagree on who to deport..😷

Do what Canada does... reduce the annual quota of immigrants by 50% which just happened.
