To me this is the number one reason why we need to be good parents and good to the children around us. So much can affect a kids life and later their

adult hood. The trauma can have been experienced in a variety of ways, from neglect through to outright abuse, but the common factor is that a happy, secure childhood is a protective shield against the whole range of adult mental health and behavioural problems, including suicide.
